Unfortunately every time I bring it up, I get bombarded with insults and threat PMs and junk. Seeing how authorities and media carved two hours of discussion to create their chosen two seconds is a reminder to use reasonable critical thought on the information we consume. There's a debate about whether and how such a crime can ever be justified, but I wish they would have laid out more starkly the traitorous dishonesty of her superiors as the key factor in her motivation. She was undoubtedly a devoted and impeccably skilled soldier for this country, and she was sick of seeing multiple people at the top of the command structure knowingly perjuring themselves and brazenly partaking in a dangerous cover-up. I kind of wish they could have found a way to really punch the log line of this chapter of history. There's still a bit of fictionalizing, such as the choice to depict the shadowy, unidentified agent as a piggish dufus, and the third act laugh break. It's also a great contrast to show that Reality is well spoken while the agents are marble-mouthed, even as they hold all the power and she's under the most pressure of her life. Sticking to the transcript helped illustrate how simultaneously duplicitous and bumbling the FBI agents were. (Mazin's Chernobyl is probably the most tragic offender.) Too many directors and their apologists think they have to completely jazz up the story and change everything. I loved the decision to stick strictly to the record for the dialogue.
